Geographic location

The populated area of ​​Bergell extends from Isola in the northeast via Maloja (1809 m) to Castasegna (697 m) in the southwest. In addition to the rugged granite walls, the differences in altitude are particularly obvious: on the 22-kilometer journey from Maloja to the Italian border, you cover more than 1,100 meters in altitude. We haven't even taken any notice of the surrounding mountain peaks - from Castasegna up to Cima di Castello (3379 m) there is an impressive 2682 meters in altitude. Better known, although not quite as high, are the Pizzi Badile and Cengalo and the Sciora group.
The geographical coordinates of Vicosoprano are 9°37'49" east longitude, which roughly corresponds to the location of Hamburg or Tunis, and 46°20'51" north latitude, which is approximately on the line from Portland via Zagreb to Ulaanbaatar.
