200 kilometres of cross-country trails

The network of trails around Maloja is one of the largest cross-country skiing paradises in the world, with 200 km of well-prepared tracks. In Maloja, varied trails, skating and classic, make for happy faces and tired athlete’s legs at the end of the evening.
From around the end of January, it is possible to glide over the frozen Lake Sils, when the lake is frozen, snow-covered and no longer recognisable as such. Parallel to this, the more ambitious cross-country ski run from Maloja to Isola leads through the woods. Also in the woods is the wonderful cross-country ski run “La Plaza”. Hilly kilometres can be explored away from the busy routes. This trail takes the cross-country skier further into the area of “Orden” with its sunny round track. You can start in the whole village. At the multi-purpose hall, visitors have a spacious cloakroom with a hot shower and toilets.

For more information about the cross-country ski runs and the current snow conditions, please visit engadin.ch. At the Bregaglia Engadin Turismo information centre in Maloja you can obtain maps and other useful information.
