Chestnut beating
In November, after the chestnuts have been dried on the grating, the chestnut farmers meet in Plazza or Brentan where the traditional chestnut beating takes place.
The smoked chestnuts are placed in long cloth sacks and then beaten on wooden stumps. The chestnuts are then passed through a sieve (vann) to separate the skin from the fruit and sorted using a sieve (cribi).
