Soglio in 1555
Soglio was elected, in 2015, the most beautiful village in Switzerland. Characteristic and interesting for its buildings, its alleys, fountains and the grandiose panorama on the Bondasca mountains, Soglio however also holds secrets buried in the past. One of these is the presence, in the mid-sixteenth century, of Michel Agnolo Florio and his son John. The latter created the first Italian-English dictionary and contributed to the writing of the works attributed to the great English playwright William Shakespeare.
The project Florio-Soglio proposes a historical path in the village, discovering the corners of the past and the secrets of the past.
